MEET PEMBROKE COLLECTIVE

What’s in a name?

A name is important as it forms the first impression, brand identity, differentiator, perhaps an indication of what you do and it’s also helpful if it has a meaning and is memorable. A strong name can build trust and attract customers.

Pembroke.

Company founder, Temi Adamolekun chose the name for a few reasons.

As a global citizen, with lofty goals of operating her business globally, she wanted a name that resonated across different countries. As a map lover, she got out her maps and took a look to see if any names were consistent across the many places she’s lived and visited.

She quickly realized Pembroke held a special meaning:

  1. It’s the name of the first street she lived on in London as a child.

  2. It’s the name of the parish in Bermuda where she got married.

  3. It’s the cross street of her brother’s home near Brighton.
